Will Mourinho lead Real Madrid again? Spanish report Sport reveals list of candidates to succeed Ancelotti

Date:

Although Real Madrid are still in contention on all fronts in the current season 2022-2023, despite varying fortunes, talk about the fate of its Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti has clearly started to rise, especially after losing to Barcelona in the last El Clasico. .

In the past two days, Spanish newspapers have floated the names of several coaches, Real Madrid management is considering hiring a successor to Ancelotti, and Catalan newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” raised the name of Portuguese Jose Mourinho, confirming that he is the one. A candidate to lead the “government” for the second time.

The newspaper indicated that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had named Jose Mourinho (Rome’s current coach) as Anceloni’s successor.

Apart from Mourinho, Perez also has the option of signing former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel, Argentina’s Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane and Xabi Alonso in his plans.

Mourinho, 60, oversaw the coaching of Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013 and led the team to 3 titles – the Spanish League, the King’s Cup Spain and the Spanish Super Cup.

While leading Real Madrid to the La Liga title in the 2011-2012 season, Mourinho and his team broke many records including the number of points (100), strongest attack, best goal difference and away team. .

The only failure of Mourinho’s career with Real Madrid was the team’s failure to win the European Champions League in his three seasons.

However, Madrid newspaper “Marca” denied and Real Madrid management is considering bringing Mourinho back to “Santiago Bernabeu”.

“Mourinho is highly respected at Real Madrid, but the club’s management is reluctant to use him as a successor to Ancelotti,” the newspaper said.

On the other hand, Ederson, the Manchester City and Brazil goalkeeper, hinted that Ancelotti will take up “Samba” training next summer.

“I have been discussing the matter with Casemiro, Vinicius Junior and Militão,” Ederson said – at a press conference – and “(Ancelotti) is more likely to come.”

“We will try to eliminate Real Madrid from the Champions League so that Ancelotti can come to Brazil as soon as possible,” he laughed.

Manchester City will face Real Madrid directly in the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they can defeat Chelsea in the second leg if they beat Bayern Munich first.

Ederson concluded by saying, “I hope we have a new coach soon. I feel hopeful about that because there is a lot of speculation. Is it a Brazilian coach or a foreigner? We are also living in that anxiety phase.”

Ederson has been named in the squad requested by Brazil interim coach Ramon Menezes for next Sunday’s friendly against Morocco on March 26.
