The dust storm reached residential areas in Kuwait, and the “Al-Qabas” newspaper’s lens monitored the entry into the areas of Shuwaiq, al-Rai and al-Khalidiya, and then reached all parts of the country.
Yasser al-Balushi, head of the Kuwait Meteorological Department’s maritime forecasting department, said the country was expected to be hit by a severe dust storm in the coming hours and strong northwesterly winds of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
According to al-Balushi, the dust storm is expected to reduce the horizontal visibility to less than 500 meters, and in some areas it may not be.
He said its intensity would last until Monday afternoon and the sea waves would rise above 7 feet.
He added that a gradual improvement in the weather conditions would begin tomorrow, Tuesday.
