Burbank, California. (Reuters) – Warner Bros Discovery Inc announced the launch of its long-awaited new streaming service Max on May 23, which will combine entertainment programming from HBO Max and reality shows on the Discovery Channel.
The service seeks to expand its reach beyond fans by combining HBO’s hit shows with reality and children’s programming.
Writer J.K. It will also produce notable works such as a new series based on Rowling’s beloved Harry Potter novels and another inspired by the world of the famous “Game of Thrones” series.
Subscription prices for the Max service are around $9.99 per month for the ad-supported version and $19.99 per month for the ad-free Max Ultimate service.
The service includes HBO’s content, including the multi-Emmy Award-winning series “Succession,” “The Caliphate” and the hit series based on the video game “The Last of Us.”
It will also air several new works such as “The Penguin”, a series about the evil nature of Batman’s world (The Penguin).
Warner Bros. Discovery is targeting 130 million subscribers by 2025, far short of Netflix’s 231 million subscribers (NASDAQ: ).
