Tunisian mathematician Nader Masmoodi won the King Faisal Prize for Science

Nader Masmoudi, a professor at the University of New York, received the King Faisal Prize for Science this year for his outstanding contribution to the analysis of nonlinear and fractional equations and for his outstanding contributions to the theory of liquid dynamics. Who is Nader Masood?

Nader Al-Masmoudi was born in Sfax in 1974 and excelled in mathematics during his high school years, helping him to compete in the International Mathematical Olympiad in 1992, winning a gold medal and becoming the first Arab. African to win this coronation ceremony.

In 1996, he received a degree in mathematics from the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, and in 1999 he received a doctorate from the Dauphine University of Paris for his dissertation entitled Problemes asymptotiques des mécanique by Pierre-Louis Lyons.

Al-Masmoud later moved to New York, where he began working as a professor of mathematics at the University of New York’s Academy of Mathematical Sciences in 2008.

He taught primarily functional analysis, different geometry and complex numbers, and was awarded the Henry Boycore Medal for Outstanding Science Essay in 2011 and the National Science Foundation Research Grant in 2012.

In 2014, he gave a scientific presentation during the annual Fields Symposium on presenting the work of the new medalist and presenting his scientific reviews, and in 2015, Nader al-Masmoudi became a professor at New York University.

He participated in many research projects such as the Statistics Program of Mathematical Scientists and also became the Director of Research for many students at his university.

In 2017, he co-founded the Fermat Prize with German Simon Brendel for his “brilliant and brilliant work in the analysis of nonlinear partial differential equations, especially for his latest contributions to the precise and comprehensive solution to the problems of hydrodynamic stability raised in the late nineteenth century.”
