Chelsea coach Thomas Duchess has confirmed that his side’s bid for the Premier League title could come to an end if his side lose to Manchester City on Saturday.
And before the British news agency “BA Media” they meet tomorrow, Saturday, at Etihad Stadium, Pep Guardiola’s coaching team Chelsea are 10 points away from Manchester City.
And Andreas Christensen became the latest Chelsea player to be infected with the corona virus.
Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 in Porto last May to win the Champions League title, but Duchess confirmed that Cardiola’s men are still the best players in England.
When asked if Chelsea’s title could end in defeat to Manchester City, Duchess responded: “Maybe, maybe, who knows.”
He added, “The biggest difference so far this season is that in my opinion they have handled the situation better with injuries and the corona virus.”
He added: “Maybe it’s luck. Maybe they did a better job. However, there are fewer key players injured, and some players miss matches.”
He added, “They have not been affected as much as we have been affected by the corona for weeks. So this is the biggest difference.”
He stressed, “If you want to compete with Manchester City, you have to be at your highest level. They are the real criterion, they are the best team in England right now. This is something that needs to be realistically recognized.”
