At a Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates stressed the need to refrain from taking provocative actions that could undermine the prospects for a two-state solution and peace, calling for continued humanitarian and development aid to the fraternal Palestinians. He urged the international community to work to support recent positive steps and encourage more, with the aim of bringing both sides back to the negotiating table. International Legal Resolutions and the Charter of the United Nations.
He noted that the congestion, escalation and violent clashes seen in the past should not take any provocative measures that could worsen these conditions, stressing the need to stop all illegal practices in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
