Al Owais said, “Tipbah Al-Hisn Bilateral Theater Festival completes its intellectual and training programs and activities with the honor and efforts of the Ruler of Sharjah, supporting and encouraging theater and playwrights in the UAE and Arab countries. .”
The annual festival “brings together local and Arab theater experiences and names, and provides concrete opportunities for them to exchange experiences and ideas and build relationships and fruitful partnerships … to advance and promote the march of Arab theater.”
On the first day, the audience was treated to an Emirati performance of “Once Upon a Time” by Tipbah Al-Hisn Heritage, Culture and Theater Group, produced and directed by Muhannad Karim. The theme of the show was the financial and moral challenges faced by the theater profession and its practitioners, whose events evolved from a casual conversation into a serious debate between a “director” – played by Nabil Al-Masmi – and an “actor” – Sharif Omar, among them.
