Saudi Al-Itifaq coach Steven Gerrard has decided to sign Manchester United star Mason Greenwood this summer.
Manchester United have announced that the player is leaving the Greenwood club following the English club’s six-month internal investigation into Mason’s alleged sexual assault of a girl last year.
Although Mason was cleared of the charge in February 2023, Manchester United did not believe the decision and confirmed that the player would leave the club.

Press reports suggested Saudi club Al-Etifaq could be interested in signing Mason Greenwood this summer, but the team’s coach Gerrard denied the rumours.

The former Liverpool legend posted a picture of the report linking the deal for Mason on his personal account on photo-sharing site Instagram, commenting that it was “fake news”.

Other press reports have revealed that Greenwood wants to stay in England, and two Championship sides have expressed an interest in signing him, but so far the English star has not been active until he is transferred to a new club.
