The Archives and the National Library have enriched the website of the Arabian Gulf Digital Archives (AGDA) with virtual exhibitions that open pages of the history of the United Arab Emirates and make them available through this platform, one of the most important digital platforms. For an audience of users to refer to it over time.
These virtual exhibitions contribute to achieving the sustainability of historical knowledge and open an important window on the historical treasures of the Archives and National Library for researchers and those interested in the history of the UAE and GCC countries.
These virtual exhibitions aim to digitally document the history and make it available through this platform, and document aspects of the founder’s and building’s achievements by drawing the attention of the users of the exhibits’ contents. The United Arab Emirates and sowed the seeds of its progress and growth, with his wise visions, until it reached its global status today.
It is certain that these virtual history exhibitions will contribute to the strengthening of the motherland, loyalty to its intellectual leadership, and will have a great impact on establishing the national identity in the hearts of the generations who will benefit from reading it. The most important historical milestones that the UAE has passed during its triumphant march are its position on the world map as a modern state in its own right.
On the other hand, the knowledge content of the virtual exhibitions celebrated by the Digital Archive of the Arabian Gulf is a documentation of what students receive in their schools about the history of the United Arab Emirates.
Among the most important exhibitions created by the Archives and National Library at the AGDA site: 50 years since the establishment of the United Arab Emirates, the visits of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – may God rest his soul – and oil in Abu Dhabi 1922-2022 (two parts), and infrastructure development in the United Arab Emirates A historical overview of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the United Arab Emirates, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (Mother of the Emirates) – may God protect her – education in the UAE, and relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The Arabian Gulf Digital Archive houses thousands of important historical documents on the history of the Emirates and the Gulf, in addition to virtual exhibits. This rich website, with its historical content, is a resource for academic and research studies. A joint project between the Archives, the National Library and the National Archives of the United Kingdom.
AGDA breaks new ground in documenting the achievements of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – may God rest his soul – especially in the early days when he assumed the duties of governing the Al Ain region from 1946, and also describes the genius of Sheikh Zayed. His efforts with his brothers, the rulers of the emirates, to establish the United Arab Emirates and begin its revival.
