Recently in November 2021 MediaTek released its flagship processing chip based on the 4nm production terminal Dimensity 9000 SoC. But for now, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC dominates the flagship smartphone market.
But based on recent reports – or rather, recent leaks – it is clear that Dimensity 9000 SoC does not compromise on strength in terms of performance.
According to the Ice Universe leak, a mysterious new Xiaomi phone was spotted on the GeekBench powered by the new MediaTek Dimension 9000 SoC and its results are more than surprising.
Some tech sites have predicted that this phone might be the Redmi K50 Pro Plus phone, which we expect to release on March 17th.
However, looking at the leaked screenshot, it was able to get 4,546 points in the test based on the performance of the multiple cores, while it was able to reach 1309 points in the test based on the performance of the single center.
These are very impressive results considering the competing processing chips. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with Samsung Exynos 2200 processor scored 3307 points and 1157 points in both tests.
The Google Pixel 6 Pro, powered by Google Tensor SoC, scored just 2,832 points and 1042 points in both tests.
Some mid-range phones will have Dimension 9000 SoC
Unfortunately, although MediaTek introduced its own processing chip by the end of last year, we did not see it on any smartphone. But there is good news on the horizon as two new smartphones with this chip are expected to be launched very soon.
Oppo is expected to launch the new model Oppo Find X5 Pro Dimension Edition of its flagship phone series, while Xiaomi is likely to launch the Redmi K50 Pro Plus phone with the same chip.
In his tweet on the Ice Universe Twitter, he says that we will start seeing the flagship MediaTek chip on many mid-range phones in the $ 500 range.
It is worth noting that the MediaTek chip is based on TSMC’s 4nm production terminal, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 are built into Samsung’s 4nm manufacturing terminal. But it can finally be mentioned that the A15 Pionic chip found on the iPhone 13 phones is by far the only chip that dominates the benchmark results.
