The “COP28” climate forum for business and philanthropy begins this month

The Leadership of the Conference of the Parties (COP28) will host the Business and Philanthropy Climate Forum, which will begin on November 30 and run through the first and second of December next, in conjunction with the Global Climate Action Summit, bringing together more than 1,000 heads of state and government, business and philanthropy leaders, non-governmental organizations and participation of entrepreneurs. The “COP28” Climate Forum seeks to promote the participation of actors from different sectors and trends in business and philanthropy, one of its kind, to address the climate change crisis and protect nature. At the “Joint Efforts in Support of Climate Action” event, the Forum will review high-level initiatives and outcomes in support of the “COP28” action plan and its four pillars. , support the previous pillars by ensuring fair and logical transition in the energy sector, developing climate finance mechanisms, protecting people and nature, and improving lives and livelihoods and ensuring full inclusion for all.

The event identifies initiatives that want to benefit from the capacity of global decision-makers in the public, private and philanthropic sectors to accelerate and develop efforts aimed at meeting the challenges of climate change, achieving climate neutrality, protecting nature and restoring biodiversity. The event will also present the Multi-Source Financing Mechanism, a mechanism to finance climate-related projects and actions in emerging markets and developing economies, and the Climate Investment Platform, a climate technology support fund. Deploying reliable climate technology in the Global South, supporting emissions reduction technologies and ambitious climate and nature protection projects, it is funding dedicated to innovative projects focused on coral reef restoration and energy transition, the “First Movers” Alliance is committed to promoting the procurement of clean and climate technology-based products and services. .
