The makers of the Terrifier series have expressed their intention to make the new installment of the series with a bigger budget and more terrifying events than the previous installments.
The new film is expected to surpass Terrifier 2, whose predecessor made audiences vomit in theatres.
Terrifier 2 was so bloody that some viewers were given vomit bags before going to see it on the big screen. A sequel to the series is currently in the works with Terrifier 3.
The makers of the indie horror series have announced that the third film in the series after The Art of the Killer Clown will begin shooting in late 2023. The first film was made on a budget of $35,000, while the second film reached approx. $250,000 and grossed over $15 million worldwide. Thanks to the huge success on social media.
And French film distributor The Coven founder Priscilla Smith has detailed plans for a third film with writer-director Damien Lyon and producer Phil Falcone. According to Deadline, the film’s budget this time will be in the low-to-mid seven-figure range.
“It’s going to be a much bigger budget this time around, which gives the filmmakers more creative freedom. All kidding aside, we’re going to the Oscars this year,” Smith said.
Director Leone added, “Terrifier 3 will be another level of horror. If you thought the horror in Part 2 was serious, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
David Howard Thornton is expected to reprise his role as the clown, while Lauren LaVera – who played Sienna in the first films – is rumored to return for the sequel as well. British Daily Star newspaper.
