Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian said his talks with EU foreign policy and defense chief Joseph Borel on Saturday were “fruitful”.
“We held fruitful talks on bilateral, regional and international issues, including the latest stage of negotiations on the lifting of the embargo,” Abdullahian was quoted as saying by the official Iranian news agency.
“Iran is committed to reaching a good, strong and lasting agreement if the other parties have the will to do so,” he said.
He added: “During the four-hour meeting, we exchanged views on the comprehensive cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European Union. I told Mr. Borelli that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks balanced relations with the world, and on a balanced foreign policy. The European continent is an important place for us. “
We have always kept our promises on the nuclear deal and never left the negotiating table. Let us continue the negotiations now without deviating from the rights of the beloved Iranian people. We hope the US side will take responsible and decisive action. This time the final point was reached in a realistic and fair manner during the talks. “Iran is committed to reaching a good, strong and lasting agreement if the other parties have the will to do so.”
