“Super Cup”… sixth star in Sharjah’s “hand” or first star for Shabab Al-Ahli

Date:

In the seventh edition of the UAE Super Cup tournament, the match between the handball teams of Sharjah and Shabab Al-Ahli Clubs will be held at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Hall, Al-Nasr Club, today at seven o’clock in the evening. With this, “King” is looking to retain the title for the sixth time in a row, with the slogan “The Knights” first title in the history of the tournament.

Both the teams are looking forward to settle the Super Cup, which will give their champions qualification to compete in both the “Emirati-Bahraini Super” in its sixth edition and the first-ever “Emirati-Saudi Super”. Their dates are expected to be decided in the near future, in coordination with the handball federations in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The “Super Cup” represents Sharjah’s first qualification to defend its titles last season, and the “King” crowned last Sunday, led by its Tunisian coach Sami Al-Saeedi, won its first title in the Confederations Cup competition. The new season relies on the expertise of the defending “champion” team to achieve the historic feat of 2023 in the 2022 season.

In achieving his ambitions to retain the Super Cup, “The King” relies on technical stability after the renewal of all team members, Tunisian professional Mesbah Al-Sana’i, Algerian Zuhair Naim and Egyptian Mahmoud in the national category and behind them the elite international elements of the first team, among whom Ahmed stands out. .

Al-Ahly youngsters look forward to breaking the “Super” complex, especially against Sharjah, after preventing the “Dubai Knights” from winning the title three times against the “King”, the most recent defeat of which was the last edition (27-32).

For the first time in the UAE League, behind him is Tunisian Rayyan Ben Mahmoud and a group of international players, the Emirati club led by Issa Al-Bannai, Wahid Murad, Musawak Juma and goalkeeper Abdul Rahman Khamis.

Notably, Al Jazeera won the inaugural title in the 2016–2017 season before Al Sharjah won the title in the 2017–2018, 2018–2019, 2019–2020, 2021–2022, 2022–2023 seasons. , knowing that the 2020 season did not take place due to the 2021 corona virus.

• Sharjah is armed with technical stability after updating all team members.

• Youth Al-Ahly made their first appearance in the professional Marcus League.
