Barcelona vice president Julie Coelho has confirmed that the Catalan club’s historic sponsorship deal with the Swedish site Spotify is “one of the best in the world.”
In one exceptional session, the Barcelona Council approved 89% of the contract to sponsor the giant broadcaster, which specializes in providing music and podcast broadcasting services, for a large sum.
The Barcelona management sold the right to name Camp Nou, the Catalan team’s stronghold, for the next 12 years – including 4 years when the stadium was renovated and 8 years after the work was completed.
Known as one of the most popular playgrounds in the world, Spotify Camp Nou, and the Swedish company’s name will appear on Barcelona’s men’s and women’s shirts, starting next season 2022/2023, for the next four seasons.
Spanish media have reported that the deal will bring Barcelona 400 400 million ($ 442 million), which will solve many of the major financial problems the Spanish club has been experiencing in recent times.
“This is the best sponsorship deal in the history of Barcelona t-shirts and one of the best in the world in terms of shirts and stadium,” Goyo said.
