The Cofidis team rider covered the 168.8 km between Rouen and Belleville in 3:51.42 hours, 58 seconds ahead of Frenchman Matteo Borgoto and American Matteo Jorgensen, to take his second victory in his history. Wingegaard finished the stage in sixteenth place, 4:14 minutes behind Izagiri, while maintaining a 17-second gap to twelfth-placed Slovenian Tadi Bokachar.
The thirteenth stage will take place on Friday between Chatillon-sur-Salaron and Gran Colombier, a distance of 138 km.
