SolidRun Thursday announced its new line of system-wide SolidWAN solutions for software-defined wide area networks and network security applications.

It will be available in different formats, with different wired and wireless network configuration options, the developer and manufacturer of high-performance System on Module (SOM) solutions said in a statement. SolidWAN networking solutions are ideal for home office use, SMB applications and deployments at the network edge.

“Organizations around the world are upgrading their network infrastructure to take advantage of the tremendous flexibility, security and cost-saving benefits of software-defined networking,” said Mordy Blunstein, vice president of marketing and sales at SolidRun.

However, one size does not fit all when it comes to network devices. This is especially true when incorporating today’s distributed workforce. With that in mind, we created the game-changing SolidWAN line, making software-defined networking affordable and easy to deploy in home offices, branch offices, data centers, and more.

SolidWAN network hardware solutions are optimized for software-defined networking applications and provide direct connection of network ports to the CPU. This direct connection allows software to manage all network traffic, which not only ensures the highest security and best quality of service, but also makes upgrading network hardware, deploying updates, and creating new network services quick and easy. .

NXP® Semiconductors’ integrated Layerscape® LX2 SoCs deliver advanced data path acceleration optimized for L2/3 packet processing, security offloading, robust traffic management and quality of service.

“The future of network management depends on software, and NXP has developed the powerful Layerscape LX2160A and LX2162A processors with this in mind,” said Toby Foster, senior director of product marketing at NXP.

“SolidRun’s SolidRun networking solutions combine the LX2 series with 16 powerful processor cores, multiple SerDes LANs, security acceleration and a data compression engine to produce cost-effective, compact devices. Processes network operations while reducing latency, increasing security, and improving resiliency. “

For home offices and small and medium businesses

The SolidWAN LX2162A is a compact network solution that takes full advantage of the robust performance and security features built into the NXP LX2162A SoC. Using the SolidRun LX2-Lite system as the basis of this compact system, the SolidWAN LX2162A effectively meets the needs of small and medium businesses and local branch offices with outstanding performance and security.

The unit is designed with a wide range of wired and wireless software-defined networking options, including eight dedicated GbE RJ45 ports, two 25Gb SFP ports, two dedicated 10GbE SFP interfaces, an optional GbE RJ45 management port, LTE and Wi-Fi options. Maximum flexibility in on-site installation while maintaining a compact, desktop-friendly footprint and low price point.

SolidRun offers small form factor fanless SD-WAN platforms with quad-core processors and dedicated software-defined 1GbE/2.5GbE/10GbE Ethernet ports to address home offices, remote workers and industrial sites that require a high-security, high-performance network. Services.

For Enterprise and Edge

For the most advanced enterprise and edge data center applications, the SolidWAN Dual LX2160A network solution features 32-core processing performance for enhanced network security and accelerated data routing capabilities.

Two SolidRun LX2160A COM Express 7 modules serve as the basis of the system, each with 16 cores NXP LX2160A SoC, configured with up to 32GB DDR4, up to 64GB eMMC, this SD-Wan is a software-defined network security. The target system supports up to 24 dedicated high-speed Ethernet uplinks (12 10 Gigabit SFP+ and 12 1 Gigabit SFP).

The system is equipped with 2x100GbE OCP3.0 dual host NIC, which has two dedicated 100GbE QSFP28 interfaces. More surprising than the number of dedicated high-speed connections this system supports is its size.

Due to the purpose-built, network-centric design of the SoCs used and the thermal performance of the ARM processors, SolidRun was able to fit the system into a standard 1U rack-mountable enclosure.

For less intensive applications, SolidRun offers the SolidWAN Single LX2160A networking solution, which features an NXP LX2160A SoC and supports 16 high-speed Ethernet links (8 10 Gigabit SFP+ and 8 1 Gigabit SFP interfaces). The system is equipped with a 4x10GbE OCP3.0 NIC, which has four dedicated SFP+ interfaces. Like the SolidWAN Dual LX2160A, this system has a compact 1U rack mountable case.

Like many SolidRun network hardware solutions, the SolidWAN family of products offers storage SKUs that support a wide range of deployment environments and can be preconfigured for commercial applications where environmental conditions range from 0°C to 70°C, or for more intensive industrial applications. Conditions range from 0°C to 70°C. -40°C to 75°C.

SolidWAN products are compatible with Linux-based SDN software applications, including DPDK, which provides data level libraries and polling mode drivers for the network interface controller to offload the processing of TCP packets from the operating system kernel to processes running in user space.

SolidRun has partnered with several software developers to provide customers with SD-WAN and security services software.
