The Czech national team has officially qualified for the finals of the European Cup of Nations (Euro 2024) in Germany, after defeating their hosts Moldova 3-0 in the final round of the eighth group qualifiers today, Monday.
In another match in the same group, Albania drew 0-0 with their hosts Faroe Islands.
The Albanian national team was confirmed to qualify for Euro 2024 before this round, as it leads with 15 points, and the Czech national team joins them in the continental championship, finishing second in a direct clash with Albania.
Poland is third with 11 points, Moldova fourth with ten and Faroe Islands last with two.
At the Androv Stadium, the Czech national team ended the first half with a 14th-minute goal by David Dotera.
In the second half, the Moldovan national team suffered a shock when Vladislav Babolu was sent off in the 55th minute.
The Czech Republic capitalized on their visitors’ lack of numbers to score twice through Tomas Sucek in the 72nd minute and Tomas Sucek in the last minute.
The Slovenia national team also qualified for the finals of the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) in Germany after defeating their hosts, the Kazakh national team, 2-1 in the final round of the eighth group qualifiers.
In the remaining group games, Northern Ireland beat hosts Denmark 2-0, while the Finnish national team beat rivals San Marino 2-1.
Denmark’s national team qualified for the continental championship before this round, topping the group stages with 22 points, while Finland finished third with 18 points ahead of second-placed Slovenia in head-to-head competition. -Kazakhstan remain in fifth place, compared to fifth place Ireland with nine points.
Slovenia secured their victory over Kazakhstan with goals from Benjamin Sisko in the 41st minute and Benjamin Verbik in the 86th minute, and Ramalan Orazov scored the only goal for Kazakhstan in the 48th minute.
In Belfast, the Northern Ireland national team beat their Danish visitors thanks to two goals from Isaac Price and Dion Charles in the 60th and 82nd minutes.
In the third match, two goals from Perry Suri in the 50th and 58th minutes gave Finland a win against their rivals San Marino.
