International media have reported that a video of a Ukrainian girl singing at a shelter in the capital Kiev has received millions of views on social media.
Baby Amelia won millions of followers online by singing the song “Let It Go” from the popular Disney movie “Frozen” that spread when she was trapped in an underground shelter.
A woman who went to decorate the dormitory last week shared the video on Facebook after Amelia said she wanted to “sing on a big stage” and in front of an audience.
Marta Smikova, a woman, explained that Amelia was encouraged to sing by her family and in a shelter in the capital, where she saw the woman singing behind a blue and yellow Ukrainian flag, followed by loud applause.
“Everyone put their work aside and listened to the woman sing,” Smykova said, “not even the men could suppress the crying.”
He said the video was taken with the permission of the girl’s mother and would later be published on news outlets across Europe and the United States.
Videographer Smykova expressed his delight at its global spread: “Amelia, my dear, you are our Ukrainian star.”
“I see you. We really see you!” Actress Idina Menzel (playing Elsa from the frozen song) tweeted after watching the touching clip.
The video received 15.7 million views, 352 thousand likes and 71.6 retweets on Twitter alone.
It is noteworthy that the Russian military operation carried out by the Kremlin on February 24 on Russian soil led millions of Ukrainians to flee to neighboring countries and hundreds of thousands of people hid in shelters and underground mines.
