The Egyptian Football Association announced on Tuesday the appointment of Portuguese “Roy Vitoria” as coach of the Egyptian national football team under a four-year contract.
In a brief statement on social networking site Facebook, the Egyptian Federation announced that a contract has been signed with the Portugal coach to lead the Egyptian national team for the next 4 years.
Who is that man?
Rui Vitoria is a 52-year-old Portuguese former footballer and coach.
He began his career as a player in the Portuguese third division and ended up in the Lisbon region with Villafrancação, which currently plays in the second division of the Portuguese league.
He retired from playing in 2003 at the age of 32.
He started his coaching career with Portuguese club Villafrancoense in 2004 and has also coached Fátima, Pacos, Guimarães and Benfica in the same country.
One of his most important training centers is the Portuguese team “Benfica”, where he trained in 2015 and continued with them for 3 years, during which he won the Premier League twice in 2016 and 2017, the Portuguese Cup once, the League Cup once, and the League Cup twice. Portugal Super Cup title.

According to Egyptian media reports, the Portuguese coach will earn 2.4 million euros annually under the contract.
