French star Karim Benzema is close to a deal for the Real Madrid striker to join Saudi club Al-Ittihad and sign a two-year deal worth €200m, a Spanish report has confirmed. .

Benzema’s contract with Real Madrid expires next month and he was on the verge of extending it for an extra season, but the Saudi offer seems to accelerate the Algerian’s departure from the “Royal” club.

Al-Ittihad quoted a source at the club as saying that advanced negotiations between the club and the player are underway, with only a few details remaining to formally settle the deal, explaining that the contract will extend for two seasons.
The newspaper claims that Benzema will receive 100 million euros tax-free every season.
According to “AS”, Benzema contacted his former teammate at Real Madrid, Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo and asked him about the Saudi league and the nature of life in the kingdom.
If Benzema were to leave Real Madrid, he would have completed 14 seasons in the club’s ranks since joining them from France’s Lyon in 2009.

During that period, Benzema played 647 matches for Real Madrid, scoring 353 goals and providing 165 assists.
Benzema won 25 championships with Real Madrid, notably the Champions League 5 times, the Spanish League 4 times, and the King’s Cup 3 times.
