Manchester City’s midfield star Rodri has fallen out with his coach Josep Guardiola over the upcoming summit clash at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Manchester City host Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.
The competition for the last 2021–2022 edition of the continental competition was a “second clackett” as the two teams also clashed in the semi-finals, with Real Madrid advancing to the final and winning the title.
Guardiola refused to treat the clash as a revenge move, pointing out the differences between the current 2022-2023 season and last season.
As for Rhodri, he opened up about his comments and said, “We will have a chance to get revenge. We have a philosophy that you can learn from past experiences.”
And the 26-year-old recalled, “We did 180 minutes of creativity (last season) but it wasn’t enough. We didn’t handle the last minutes of the second leg well.”
And about the opponent, Rhodri confirmed in the British newspaper “Daily Mail” reports, “We respect him, he is the champion of this tournament.”
And the Madrid-born player added, “But we have our weapons. We’re going through a big period and we’re not afraid of anything. We’re here to fight back and, of course, we’re hungry for revenge.”
