Real Madrid may back out of signing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this summer because of his old dream of signing French star Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, media reports have revealed.
Real Madrid are looking to compensate for their French star Karim Benzema’s move to Saudi Jeddah by signing a new striker during this summer’s mercado.
According to the “Relevo” network, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is considering not signing Harry Kane in order to wait for Kylian Mbappe to sign a free contract in the summer of 2024.
The Spanish network indicated that Carlo Ancelotti is pressuring the Royal Club management to add Kane, but Perez is unwilling to pay €100m to sign 30-year-old Harry Kane.
The report indicated that Florentino Perez wants to sign Kylian Mbappe in 2024 more than ever, as the Frenchman has given signs of confidence to the president of the Royal Club, who questions the feasibility of the economic process by signing Kane.
Previous press reports indicated Real Madrid’s willingness to offer €80 million, in addition to the €20 million, to acquire the Spurs star’s services, despite the London club wanting €130 million.
