Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is reconsidering his future with Real Madrid after receiving an attractive offer to move to the Saudi league, according to reports from the network.ESPNsports news.
On Tuesday, the 35-year-old French striker received a two-year offer worth 400 million euros last January, citing a source.
He prefers to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he has stayed for the past 11 years, but he will join up with his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, who plays with Saudi Arabia.
Benzema’s contract with Real Madrid expires this summer as Spanish media reports indicate that his contract will be automatically renewed for another season, but Real Madrid have yet to officially announce this.
And Spanish newspaper “AS” claimed that Benzema has not confirmed his continuation at the Bernabeu and that he has informed Real Madrid of the Saudi’s offer.
The attractive offer also includes appointing Benzema as an ambassador to promote Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2030 World Cup, which will give him more money.
Real Madrid’s current season has been disappointing after rivals Barcelona won the league title and crashed out of the Champions League with a heavy defeat against Manchester City in the semi-finals.
Apart from Benzema, Saudi Arabia is working to attract other stars to play in the local league and promote Argentina’s bid to host the World Cup, led by Lionel Messi.
