Real Madrid continued their path by winning the Spanish Football League for the 35th time in its history with a 3-1 win over Osasuna on Wednesday with goals from David Alaba, Marco Asencio and Lucas Vazquez, while Karim Benzema missed two penalties.

Real are 78 points ahead of their closest rival Atletico Madrid, who previously drew 0-0 with Granada.

Barcelona are third before both teams play on Thursday, and Sevilla are fourth behind Atletico by one point.

Real need 4 points from last 5 matches to retain the title.

In the 12th minute, after a free kick, Alaba scored with a shot from close range, but Osasuna equalized two minutes later with a quick counter-attack by Andy Bodemir.

Asencio was in the right place and time to follow up the counter-shot of his teammate Danny Ceballos and scored the second goal.

Benzema missed two penalties within 5 minutes of the second half, with goalkeeper Sergio Herrera performing well and saving both attempts.

But things were not resolved until the last second, when substitute Vinicius Jr. penetrated from the left side and sent a ball around to Vasquez.
