Youssef Essad, political adviser to the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, said in response to the surprise bid by the government that he did not recognize the authority of Malik Agar, the deputy chairman of the interim sovereignty council in Sudan. Agar, in his speech on Tuesday, called for a comprehensive dialogue and a ceasefire in preparation for an intermediate phase.
The political adviser said – in an interview with Al-Jazeera – that supporting forces do not recognize Aqar’s authority, and stressed the commitment of “swift support” to the Jeddah base and the US-Saudi effort.
Agar announced – in his speech yesterday – a road map based on an immediate cessation of hostilities and the launch of a comprehensive dialogue that would establish a transitional phase, and the executive authority overseeing the implementation of the road map to end the current crisis. .
He added that the road map was the first step towards holding democratic elections in the country, noting that the completion of the road map would be followed by a comprehensive political process that would include all civil political forces interested in establishing a Sudanese government.
Agar called for “quick support” to take responsibility for the ongoing developments, and the reasons for the fighting declared by these forces were hidden by a series of crimes and violations – as he said – stressing that “quick support” should know that there are not two armies in one country.

Agar announced an apology to the Sudanese people for “failing to establish a government”, stressed his commitment to making every effort to stop the war, and said that the rapid support forces must know that there are no two armies in one country.
He said the priorities for the coming period start with implementing the road map, ending the war, providing aid to all parts of the country, communicating with all parties and preventing the war from spreading to other parts of Sudan.
He said the situation made it “necessary to form a government to conduct the affairs of the state” and that the period established following the war would be devoted to reconstruction and institution building.
He insisted that a partisan competitive approach and a culture of marginalization could not continue, and called on Muslims to reexamine their experience over the past 30 years, describing that experience as “obsolete goods”.
The United Nations has issued a warning
As the fighting entered its fifth month, the United Nations warned that the death toll had exceeded 3,000, most of them civilians, and more than 6 million Sudanese were on the brink of starvation.
