The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has issued an administrative closure decision against the “Nepali Himalayan Restaurant” facility in Abu Dhabi, which has business license no. Received CN-3025629, Food in Abu Dhabi for Violation of Law No. (2) of 2008 on Food and Its Dangerous to Health.
The commission explained that the administrative closure decision was taken as a result of selling and manufacturing non-halal food without obtaining necessary permits and storing and preparing it separately from other foods with the same tools and equipment used to prepare halal food.
The Commission affirmed that the administrative closure order will continue until its reasons exist, and that the facility can be allowed to resume operations after it has rectified its situation and met all requirements necessary to practice operations. And before reopening the facility to the public, equipment must be replaced and the entire facility cleaned and disinfected.
The Commission pointed out that the administrative closure decisions and detection of observed violations come within the framework of inspection efforts aimed at strengthening the food safety system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Inspectors of the authorities have appealed to the public to take appropriate action by contacting the Abu Dhabi Government’s toll-free number 800555 if any violations are found in any food establishment or if there is any doubt about the content of food products.
