Ministry of Health in Gaza: Death toll surpasses 2014 war News

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip put the death toll at 2,329 martyrs and 9,024 wounded, most of them women and children.

He added that the number of martyrs as a result of the Israeli occupation in 8 days was higher than the number of casualties in the 51 days of the 2014 war.

Ashraf al-Khudra, spokesman for the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, said the situation “confirms that Israel’s crimes against our people are tantamount to ethnic cleansing.”

In the 2014 war, 2,322 Palestinians, including 578 children and 489 women, were killed, according to the then Ministry of Health.

The number of Palestinian civilian martyrs reached 2,329 Palestinians as of Sunday morning, and 9,042 have been injured since October 7 and the start of the Al-Aqsa flood battle.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 70% of the population of the northern Gaza Strip lost health services after the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) vacated its centers and suspended its services.

The Palestinian News Agency, for its part, said 47 Palestinian families, numbering around 500 people, had been removed from the civil registry as a result of Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 28 Palestinian health workers were killed in the occupation of Gaza.

In a related context, the World Health Organization has strongly condemned Israel’s repeated orders to evacuate 22 hospitals treating more than 2,000 patients in northern Gaza.

“The forced evacuation of patients and health workers will only worsen the current humanitarian and public health disaster,” he noted.

The World Health Organization asserted that “the majority of caregivers have chosen to honor their commitment as health professionals.”

“Healthcare workers should never have to make such impossible choices,” he stressed.

The Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip continues for the ninth consecutive day, with aircraft, warships, gunboats and occupation artillery bombarding its homes, towers and residential buildings, striking hundreds of people. In addition to casualties among martyrs and civilians, destruction of public and private property, and infrastructure, destruction of infrastructure, entire residential blocks.
