Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The former home of late fashion designer Gianni Versace in Manhattan has been sold for $ 70 million.
According to Sotheby’s International Property List, Versace bought the seven-bedroom mansion in 1995 and completely renovated its interior.
Built in 1950, the palace offers the buyer the opportunity to “live like a royal family” and “own a real estate and date fashion” list.
The house has 17 luxuriously decorated rooms, across 6 floors, overlooking Fifth Avenue, and bordering Central Park.
The floors are made of Italian marble, and the Austrian “barquet”, and the walls, painted ceilings and mosaic details additionally embrace 5 fireplaces.
“Versace’s genius and vision are evident in the first four platforms, each showcasing the designer’s renowned talent,” the list said.
Each floor of the palace has a different theme.
Behind a marble staircase and entrance is an ornate Greek-style gallery, and on the garden floor are hand-painted canvas walls inspired by a neoclassical English mansion.
The third floor is decorated with a ceiling similar to the Sistine Chapel, with 19th century restoration panels brought by Versace from the Palace of Florence.
Upstairs there is a double spa bath, which the list describes as “the best in town,” with bedrooms and a Moroccan-style entertainment room on the fifth and sixth floors.
Versace is one of the most influential fashion figures of the 20th century.
According to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the designer came out in Milan in 1978 with his first independent collection and founded his brand with brother Santo and sister Donadella.
Known for their glamorous portraits and theatrical style, her designs have been worn by many celebrities of pop culture, including model Naomi Campbell, star Jennifer Lopez and singer Elton John.
Versace was shot dead in 1997 on the steps of his Miami Beach villa.
Since his death, Donadella Versace has continued to lead the creative vision for the brand, which is now under the supervision of Capri Holdings, the US company that bought the brand in 2018.
