French international winger Kingsley Koeman is looking to become a legend at Bayern Munich by winning more trophies at the Allianz Arena.
Koeman, 26, has won the domestic league title in every season he has played in his professional career, with Paris Saint-Germain in 2014 and then with Juventus in 2015, and the Bundesliga title in every season since his arrival from Bayern Munich in 2015.
Koeman scored the winning goal against Saint-Germain in the 2020 UEFA Champions League Final.
In an interview with Bayern Munich magazine today on Monday, Koeman said his work is far from over.
“When I arrived, every year I wanted to say I was a champion,” Koeman said, “and that was a big motivation for me.”
And at a time when his colleagues Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez and Alfonso Davies are threatening to move to another club, Koeman wants to settle into a team.
And the French winger said: “I can understand players who want to leave a club because they are not happy there, or they want to enjoy a new experience, but many people forget that your team contributed to the rise of your star. Something like this has to be created.”
He explained, “For me, it’s important to build strong relationships with my colleagues, the technical staff and the whole club. Bayern Munich is like a family to me. I know almost every person and every face, and I see more of it. What’s more beautiful than constantly making new connections.”
Koeman’s contract with Bayern runs until 2027, and if he continues until the end of his contract, he will be the only remaining foreign player at the Bavarian club.
