Last season’s ADIB Cup champions and ADNOC Professional League champions Al-Ain (Al-Zaim), and ADIB Cup runners-up Al-Ahly Youth (The Red Knights) will be excluded. From participating in the first round, they will begin their journey from the quarter-finals.
To draw the first round tie, the remaining 12 teams of the ADNOC Professional League will be divided into two pots based on their league positions at the end of the previous 2021-2022 season.
The first pot includes Sharjah (King), Al Wahda (Honorable Companions), Al Jazeera (Pride of Abu Dhabi), Al Wasl (Emperor), Ajman (Orange) and Al Nasr (Brigadier). .
The second pot consists of Banias (Swords of the Capital), Khor Faqan (Al-Noor), Ittihad Kalba (Tigers) and Al Tafra (West Faris), followed by rising teams Tipbah Al Fujairah (Al Nawqada) and Al. Badeh.
The first round will be played in a knockout format, with the first leg on 11th and 12th October and the second leg on 1st and 2nd November.
The first leg of the quarter-finals will be played on November 24 and 25, while the second leg will be played on December 11 and 12.
The first leg of the semi-final will be postponed to April 20, 2023 and the second leg to May 2.
As for the dream final, it will be held on 17th May.
