The Israeli channel did not specify the number of prisoners from either side expected to be included in the deal.
For his part, US President Joe Biden said he hoped to reach an agreement soon to release some prisoners held by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza, without giving further details.
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby also confirmed that Washington believed a deal to release the prisoners was “immediate.”
Kirby said the White House was doing its best in the hostage negotiations, explaining that “the implementation of any agreement depends on everybody fulfilling their obligations.”
On the other hand, the Israel Today newspaper quoted officials as saying that the deal was no closer than yesterday, and that a military cabinet meeting will be held tonight with representatives of the families, and if there is any update, the families will be the first to report it.
