Apple is gearing up to officially unveil the latest version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 17, during the WWDC developer fair on June 5, a version that will bring improvements and new features to the phones.
Apple has confirmed that it will hold WWDC on June 5 this year and will reveal the latest versions of its software and operating systems, iOS for phones, Mac OS for computers and more.
According to a report by reliable analyst Mark Gurman via Bloomberg newspaper, iOS 17 has one of the features to do with its rival Android’s lock interface.
He explained that Apple will add a Smart Lock interface in iOS 17, which will turn iPhones into home voice assistant devices while displaying more data and information without the need to unlock them.
He explained that the lock screen in iOS 17 will display basic data; Calendar appointments, weather, home voice assistants, as well as full notifications, and the interface is similar to what Google offers on Android and Amazon’s Nest and Echo Home devices.
Notably, this feature will use a dark background with bright text to make it easier to read, and it’s an extension of the lock screen tools that Apple already announced for the first time with iOS 16, but it will also introduce new features. Interactive in iOS 17, which is already consistent with Gorman’s information.
The analyst adds that this Smart Screen-like feature could also come to iPads, although it is not clear if it will launch in the first version of iPadOS 17.
With this new feature like smart home assistant screens, iOS 17 is expected to be equipped with improved apps like; News and Wallet apps with improvements for SharePlay and AirPlay.
