British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced last night that he had returned to work in his office after staying at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, the British news agency PA Media reported.
The 95-year-old, who has been advised to cancel a trip to Northern Ireland this week, is staying at his home in Windsor Castle and said Buckingham Palace is “in a good mood”.
“Everyone sends their congratulations to the Queen, and of course from our government,” Johnson said during a visit yesterday to a vaccination center in west London. The news agency “PA Media” reported last night that the Queen had been presented to specialists at King Edward VII Private Hospital in central London.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said the Queen went to the hospital for some initial tests last Wednesday after receiving medical advice to rest for a few days, and returned to Windsor Castle with good cheer at lunch the day before yesterday.
