“The Nan 2” continues to top the box office in North America with $14.7 million. The production stars American Taissa Farmiga, Belgian Jonas Bloquet and Buell Reed.
“A Hunting in Venice,” written by British director and actor Kenneth Branagh, took second place on the charts with $14.5 million in its opening weekend.
After the films “Murder on the Orient Express” and “Death on the Nile”, Kenneth Branagh returns in a new work to highlight the character of the famous Belgian detective from Agatha Christie’s novels. After the investigator retires, he attends a scene in Venice where a murder is recorded, prompting him to investigate what happened. Malaysian actresses Michelle Yeoh and American Tina Fey play lead roles in the work.
Third place went to “The Equalizer 3” with $7.2 million. The work deals with the adventures of a retired US Marine and an anti-narcotics agent who confronts an Italian gang.
“My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” was fourth with $4.7 million. Actress Nia Vardalos wrote and directed this American comedy that chronicles a family trip to Greece.
“Barbie,” directed by Greta Gerwig, took fifth place on the chart, earning $3.9 million, bringing its total to $626 million after 9 weeks of theatrical release in North America.
