How to make Chrome the default browser on PC or Mac

You can turn Google Chrome into your default browser on Mac or PC in just a few clicks. If you make Google Chrome your default browser, any link you click on will automatically open in Chrome, giving users some benefit of making it their default browser.

For example, making Chrome your default browser means that any link you open will be automatically accessed by Chrome, and in order to use browser features, you must first download it to your computer.

How to make Google Chrome the default browser on Mac

Setting up Google Chrome as your default browser is easy, and if you do not already have one, you need to download the app. There are two ways to set up Chrome as a web browser.

1. Once downloaded, open Google Chrome.

2. Click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner to open the menu.

3. Select Settings from the list.

4. Click Default Browser from the list on the left.

Note: Safari is the default browser selected for Mac OS.

Alternatively, you can follow these steps:

1. From the desktop screen, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner.

2. Click System Options from the menu.

3. Select General from the options.

4. Next to the default web browser, select Google Chrome from the pop-up menu and close the window.

Creating a Chrome browser may be a little different depending on the Windows navigation interface you have.

If you are using Windows 10, do the following:

1. Click “Start” to open the menu.

2. Select Settings from the list of options.

3. Click the Applications tab.

4. Select the default applications from the side panel.

5. Under Web Browser, click Current Browser.

6. Select Google Chrome from the application window and press Done.

Windows 8 and 7 users have the following steps:

1. Click “Start” to open the menu.

2. Locate and click on Control Panel.

3. Click Programs.

4. Select the default programs and then set the default programs.

5. Select Google Chrome from the list on the left.

6. Select Set this program as default and press OK when done.
