Google Chrome is pretty simple, but it doesn’t have to be. One way to spice it up is to change the overall look with a new theme.
As DigitalLend reports, you can not only change the background of the new tab, but also change the general colors of tabs, bookmarks bar and more.
This method will not work Microsoft Edge Based on Chromium, it does not change the appearance of Google’s website. This method only applies to Google Chrome, the best browser you can download right now and its new tab page.
Here’s how to change your Google wallpaper, but before you press on, make sure you’ve updated Chrome, as the following instructions reflect Chrome version 119 and later.
Find the theme setting
First, we will tell you how to change the background of Google Chrome with a theme. Here, we install a theme that you can download from the Chrome Web Store. Themes usually include a custom image that appears in the background. A new tab and new colors are scattered throughout the browser.
First, find the theme setting in Google Chrome and do this:
Step 1: Select the Customize and Control icon Google Chrome Three dots in the upper right corner.
Step 2: Select the Settings option from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Select a theme listed on the left.
Step 4: Select a theme listed on the right. This action will take you to the Chrome Web Store.
Choose your topic
The Themes section of the Chrome Web Store opens in a new tab. Here’s what to do next.
Step 1: Browse through the many themes available in the store divided into broad categories. The main image you see is usually the one that appears as the background of your new tab, so you can use that as a guide to choosing an image, and if you need help, these are our favorite themes.
Step 2: After selecting the theme, make sure to check its preview images and reviews, and the support section (if this theme exists) will inform you about the issues (if any) faced by users while using the theme.
Step 3: Remember that most themes extend their colors and styles across your browser window and tabs, so check out the full theme before installing.
Add it to Chrome
Next, it’s time to add your theme to Chrome. Here’s what to do:
Step 1: When you find something you like, select the blue Add to Chrome button.
Step 2: When using a Chrome theme, this button should now read Remove from Chrome and you will see a blue Undo button to remove the theme.
Step 3: Check out your new theme, which will automatically change the look of your browser. The color of your tabs may or may not change, and when you open a new tab, you should see the theme’s main image.
Step 4: See if you like the overall look Sometimes you may like the image, but the colors you add via tabs or browser won’t. If so, select the Undo or Return to Appearance button in the Settings menu and return to the default appearance.
