Of all the devices that will be presented at the Unpacked event on July 26, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 might be the most anticipated. In fact, the “book” format has become the most popular format for consumers looking to buy a foldable smartphone. At first glance, the new iteration of the flagship will not fundamentally change the formula used in the Galaxy Z Fold 4: it will have an even larger foldable main display and an additional external display that can be used in folded mode. When the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is folded, there is no visible notch, which raises questions about the device’s hinge and screen durability. Images spotted by a German site give us a glimpse of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The images confirm that the folding shape is in no way similar to its predecessor. The external screen is very large. But it’s rumored to have gone from 1.22 inches across to nearly 2.2 inches wide, a 78% increase!
As WinFuture points out, this new emphasis on the external screen will allow it to be used with many new applications, so Google and Samsung are working on specific ones.
Here, there is no revolution at the aesthetic level. The changes to the digital menu will undoubtedly be more significant. Other than these renders, which basically confirm rumors about Samsung’s foldable devices, no other information has been leaked about pricing or colors.
