Today, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad issued Order No. 208 of 2021 to form the new Syrian government led by Engineer Hussein Arnas.
The change in the new government structure will include three ministries (including the Ministry of Information) in addition to the two state ministers.
Former presidential candidate Abdullah Shalloum Abdullah has re-entered the government as Minister of State, and the change of Minister of Information is one of the most important amendments (he previously served as Minister of State for People’s Assembly Affairs, between 2016 and 2020), before running in the Syrian presidential election).
Most ministers held their portfolios, while the change included ministers:
– Media, Poutros Hallock, Faculty of Mass Communication, University of Damascus, has been appointed to replace Imad Sara.
Amar Salem, the former Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, and Communications and Technology, replaced Talal Parasi.
– Social Affairs and Labor, and Muhammad Chief El-Din was appointed to replace Salwa Abdullah.
For state ministers, the most significant change was the appointment of former presidential candidate Abdullah Abdullah to the post of Minister of State.
Of the three state ministers, Minister Faisal al-Barsha retained his post, while Abdullah Abdullah and Dyla Barakat replaced Muhammad Samir Hattad and Maloul al-Hussein.
