Small, yet lively country Georgia is set to become a shining star in the entertainment industry! As part of Starring Georgia, it will become the host of the entire constellation, capturing the attention not only of the Caucasus but also the world.
Starring Georgia is a two-year campaign organized by Black Sea Arena – the biggest concert hall in the country, under the decision of Georgias Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili. Bruno Mars will be the grand finale of the 2023 campaign. Prior to this announcement, it was already known that there would be a Starfall in Georgia, which would host performances by renowned artists such as Imagine Dragons, The Killers, Nile Rodgers & Chic, FKJ, Damian Lazarus, and the electronic music festival All Day I Dream.
Such esteemed artists have not previously visited Georgia, and their presence promises to contribute to the country’s tourism, economy, and cultural development. This is particularly exciting for the younger generation, who will now have the opportunity to attend live concerts by their favorite artists without having to travel abroad or incur significant expenses. Georgian youth, who dream of hearing their favorite artists perform live, will be able to do so in their own country and their own city. Additionally, this presents a great opportunity for residents of neighboring countries and even those from far away who wish to experience live performances by their beloved musicians while discovering an interesting country. Georgia offers them this thrilling adventure.
In addition to its cultural significance, Starring Georgia campaign has a substantial economic impact. The entertainment industry plays a crucial role in positioning the country on the international stage. Such campaigns increase awareness of the country and attract tourists who are willing to spend, which has a consistent positive influence on the economy.
According to Tsitsi Iashvili, the project manager of the Black Sea Arena, “This campaign will be a vital investment in Georgia’s economy. Our country is set to shine as the leading entertainment destination in Transcaucasia. There are no regionally planned concerts of similar scale this year, which gives Georgia the opportunity to become an attractive country for fans of these artists from around the world. It is also an appealing option for the neighboring population who can attend desired concerts in Georgia at a lower price compared to Europe.”
