Flydubai expects 4.5 million passengers during the summer season

Flydubai said it is gearing up for another exceptional summer, the busiest in aviation history, with its growing network expected to carry more than 4.5 million passengers from 1 June to 30 September 2023.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “As we prepare for another record summer season, we would like to thank all the teams for their great efforts to ensure passenger comfort through Dubai Airports. More than 4.5 million passengers are expected to travel through the flydubai network over the next few months, making travel a breeze. Growing demand, passenger confidence in our services and tourism, trade and our network continue to reflect Dubai’s attractiveness as a global destination to grow.

For his part, flydubai’s Chief Commercial Officer Hamad Obaidullah said: “We are delighted to offer our passengers more travel options this summer, with more than 115 destinations to choose from. Flydubai’s seasonal summer destinations, in addition to other network destinations, are ideal for holiday, business or visiting friends and family. We have added 33% additional capacity to our markets and look forward to welcoming passengers on our flights for the Eid holidays and the busy summer season.

More than 4.5 million passengers are expected to travel with flydubai during the next busy travel period. Flydubai offers the option to fly to 117 destinations in 52 countries this summer, including Krabi, Milan Bergamo, Niue, Pattaya, St Petersburg and others. Fly will start its flights to nine seasonal summer destinations from June 21.

During the busy Eid al-Adha travel period, the airline has increased its seat capacity by 20% to several selected destinations to accommodate the significant increase in travel demand during the Eid al-Adha holiday from June 24 to July 2. These include popular destinations such as Baku, Beirut, Colombo, Mali, Tbilisi, Yerevan and Zanzibar.

To meet the demand, the company has increased the seat capacity of its network by 33% for the period from June 1 to September 30, 2023, compared to the same period last year.

In addition to Belgrade, Budapest, Prague, Salzburg, Warsaw, Zagreb and other destinations, the airline’s network in Europe reaches 28 destinations, including five in Italy.

The airline expects to operate more than 9,400 flights per month through the flydubai network between June 1 and September 30, with August being the busiest period during this period. Flydubai has acquired seven new aircraft since the start of the year as fleet size increased by 23% from last year to 79 Boeing 737 aircraft.

To support the growth trajectory, flydubai has increased its workforce and in the last six months has attracted 560 new employees, including pilots, cabin crew and professionals from 138 different countries.
