The coach of the German national football team “The Machines” Hansie Flick chose the first list for the team after taking charge today, Friday.
Five players returned to the list, including Marco Reyes, and three players joined for the first time.
Reyes was selected captain and striker for the Borussia Dortmund with three young players, Salzburg striker Karim Ademi, Freiburg defender Nico Schlatterbeek and Hoffenheim defender David Raum.
The young trio helped the German national team win the European Under-21 Championship this year, and Flick said they performed well in the tournament.
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Fritz, who is preparing for the matches against Liechtenstein, Iceland and Armenia from September 2 to 8, is on the provisional list of 26 players.
“We think it’s a good, exciting team that mixes experience and youth,” Flick said. Following his exit from the European Championship in the 16th round, Flick took over the German national team 15 years later, after Joachim Low had ended his career with the team.
The squad includes 18 players from the European Championship and eight players from league champions Bayern Munich.
Flick said that Joshua Kimmich will return to the right-back position after playing with three defenders after his experience of defeat at the Euros and in the presence of Kimmich.
Thomas Mர்ller has been with the team since Dortmund defender Mats Hummels was called up to take part in the Euros, but Hummels is not on the current list because he is on the list of many injured or sick players.
