Raja Casablanca’s office is in trouble after its fans rioted and incited the national flag and whistle during the national anthem in Rabat.
Last Saturday, during the Throne Cup football final between Raja Athletic and Nahtdet Bergen, there was a riot that caused major problems for the Raja Casablanca office.
According to Al-Sabah newspaper, some of the arrested fans affiliated with the Green team revealed that the King’s office told them to travel en masse to Rabat to attend the match without giving them tickets.
The same source said security officials in Rabat had arrested 144 Raja fans on charges of rioting outside and inside the Moulay Abdullah stadium, where reports from several inmates are expected to lead to the prosecution of team captain Mohamed Boudrika as things took a dangerous turn.
As a result, according to the same source, the governor of the Rabat-Saleh-Khenitra region, Mohamed El-Yakoubi, decided to prosecute the officials of the Casablanca group before the judiciary on serious charges, including disturbing the public order.
The source explained that the early morning rush to Rabat to attend the match, which started at eight in the evening, indicated that some fans were willing to stay overnight to riot, which is what actually happened.
The same source added that when university officials fought for Morocco in the corridors of the “Gaf” in Abidjan, King’s fans denounced the national flag and whistled during the playing of the national anthem, a free gift to enemies of the homeland, adding to the situation.
