Houria Hassan enjoyed a rich singing career in which she sang more than 400 songs, the most famous of which was “From My Love to You, My Neighbor”, written by Morsi Jamil Aziz and composed by Muhammad Al-Muji, and an operetta. “The Big Night”, written by Salah Jahin and composed by Saeed Makkawi.
She began her artistic career at the age of sixteen, in 1948 she participated in the operetta “Maruf al-Isqafi” on Egyptian radio, and she was officially recognized as a singer.
He became a quick success due to his unique voice and took part in many operettas, earning the title of “flying singer” due to his frequent travels to Arab countries until his title in the media became “the first operetta singer”. Concerts.
Her success as a singer contributed to her entry into the acting industry as she delivered 6 cinematic films, the most famous of which was “Andhar and Bulbul” with Mahmood Shokoku and Siraj Mounir.
Houria Haasan unexpectedly ended her friendship with singer Faiza Ahmed and later accused her of trying to kill her with poison, which the latter denied.
Narrating the situation, Faiza Ahmed said that Houria invited Hasan to her home for lunch and prepared a meal of turkey and rice for him, but Houria could not bear the hunger and opened her friend’s fridge and ate the okra meal. Ahmed went out to feed her cats, which poisoned her, after which she was taken to the hospital.
Houria Hassan was keen to help his peers and he was elected a member of the Syndicate of Musical Professions Council in 1988, where he contributed to increasing the income of members and improving therapeutic services for them, and he continued. His union activism continued until his death on June 8, 1994 at the age of 62.
