Excessive sweating of the hands can be very irritating. It causes one great embarrassment while shaking hands with others. Excessive hand sweating is caused by both organic and psychological causes, and can be resolved with home remedies, medications, or Botox.
Dermatologist Marion Morse-Corby says there are many causes of excessive hand sweating, some natural and some psychological, explaining that organic causes include high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes and autoimmune diseases.
Morse-Corby added that psychological causes of excessive sweating include fear, anxiety, psychological stress and anger.
A German doctor pointed out that excessive sweating of the hands can be combated with sage tea. The volatile oils in it work to reduce the secretion of sweat glands.
For this purpose, sage tea is boiled and cooled, then filled into small sprays and sprinkled on the hands from time to time.
German dermatologist, Jan Olaf Biontech, pointed out that hyperhidrosis of the hands can be countered with drugs that control the secretion of excessive sweat glands. Biontech added that Botox injections can also treat hyperhidrosis of the hands by requiring renewal of the treatment every six months.
But if excessive sweating is caused by psychological factors such as stress, it can be combated by practicing relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation and breathing exercises.
