Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described his tour of 3 Gulf countries last week as “very successful and fruitful”.
In a televised address on Monday evening, Erdogan indicated that the tour with a large business delegation to the Gulf was a “very important step” in the field of foreign policy.
Our trips to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE were very successful and fruitful,” he added.
Pointing out that the five agreements signed with Saudi Arabia have taken the existing cooperation between the two countries to a more advanced level, he emphasized that “the largest export agreement for defense and space products in our history in the field of defense” was signed.
He continued, “We have decided to crown our excellent relations with Qatar with a new partnership.”
President Erdoğan pointed out that the volume of trade between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates is 10 billion dollars, and the United Arab Emirates is one of Turkey’s most important trade and economic partners.
He added, “We celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations by establishing the High Level Strategic Council mechanism.”
Erdoğan indicated that his visit to the UAE saw the signing of 13 contracts in various sectors, with a total value of $50.7 billion.
Touching upon the gifting of Turkish-made “TOG” cars to the leaders of the countries he visited, he expressed his happiness that the Turkish car “TOG” received a “full degree” from these leaders.
Erdogan embarked on a Gulf tour that included Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates between 17 and 19 July with a large group of ministers, officials and businessmen.
