ABU DHABI, October 31 / WAM / The UAE team won the first prize in the “CreativeIoT E” challenge to use information technology to make life easier for determined people at the end of the final round of the Global IT Challenge for Youth. Resolution 2023.
36 individuals, 12 teams and 5 special prize winners were honored at the awards ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) as part of the first-ever competitions in the Middle East. The organizing committee of the challenge honored the participating teams and individuals for their exceptional achievements in various fields of determination, and presented five special awards, including the Global Technology Leader Award 2023, which was felicitated by Muhammad Nasir Danish of Malaysia. Marion Sharifa from Kenya and Elias Bobi from Ethiopia were honored with the best superhero awards. Participants from Malaysia won 19 awards in various individual competition categories, as well as contribution awards to recognize their outstanding contributions to the Philippines and Malaysia teams.
In his speech during the award ceremony, Asad Hawass Al-Sadid, Director of the Project Management Office of the Saeed High Organization for Resilient People, praised this pioneering challenge that brought together 536 participants from 18 countries, where 461 youth projects and women between the ages of 14 and 23 participated. With 75 dedicated evaluators, including government experts, representatives from 16 countries attended, they pointed out that this exceptional gathering crossed geographical boundaries. Both countries participated actively through virtual video conferences.
He stressed that determined people with their skills, talents and goals enable them to face the challenges they face, emphasizing the need to support the rights of all to equal opportunities and privileges. Hawass expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to hosting and organizing the competition and its events, speakers, panelists and participants, company partners from the local community of Al Ain University, Cyber Security Council, Cybergate. The challenge consisted of one group matches over two days. On the first day, two competitions were held: “eCreative Smart Car”, which tested the participants’ skills in programming self-driving cars using the Scratch program and participants showed their creativity by creating and editing “eContent” clips.Video on specific topics.
On the second day, four challenges were presented: “eToolPpt” to assess skills in preparing and editing presentation slides, “eTool Excel” to assess mastery of data, calculations and editing functions in certain situations, “eLifeMap” to measure ability to use the Internet to face everyday life challenges, and “eCreativeIOT” technology. or evaluates the ability to improve the lives of committed people through innovative ideas.
