ABU DHABI, July 10, WAM/ The Government of the United Arab Emirates and the International Committee of the Red Cross have signed an agreement to establish an office for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Abu Dhabi. The agreement was signed by His Highness Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation for the Government of the United Arab Emirates, and Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, International Committee of the Red Cross, at the headquarters. of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of several senior officials from both sides.
Her Excellency Reem Al-Hashemi emphasized that the UAE always strives to promote the values of partnership and cooperation with international organizations and to support them and provide them with all aspects of support in carrying out their relief work.
His Excellency added: Today, we are proud to strengthen cooperation and our prestigious relations with the International Committee of the Red Cross through the agreement to establish an office in the United Arab Emirates, in light of the great challenges that contribute to achieving the desired goals in terms of relief work, the needy and the use of modern technologies in the sector. Currently in many parts of the world. Relief work is underway.
For his part, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, said, “The UAE plays an important role and is an important partner of the ICRC.
