Emirates News Agency – Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakbout crowned the winners of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival.

ABU DHABI, 25th August / WAM / The activities of the 29th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival were held yesterday evening (Thursday), which was chaired by Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The event concluded with the participation of 1,650 athletes from 68 countries, chaired by the Saeed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation and the Humanitarian Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
In the presence of Hussain Abdullah Al-Khouri, President of the Abu Dhabi Chess Club and Chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee, Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Shabud Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation, crowned the winners of the festival’s awards. Talal Al-Hashemi, Executive Director of the Sports Development Department of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, UAE club executives and participating representatives.
Slovenian Vladimir Fedoseev won the Masters Championship title and first place, Chinese Kisan Gu second and Arvind Siddambaram (India) third.
In the Open Chess Championship, Danish Rajan of India won the first place and compatriot Sham and Sindarov Aslambek of Uzbekistan came third.
In the Open category, Rustam Tolento of the Philippines took first place in the A division, followed by Ibrahim Sultan of the United Arab Emirates in second place and Michael Rostmanyan of Armenia in third place.
In the Academies Championship, Indian Raqshan Mukurta finished first, followed by his compatriot Farooq Faizan and Emirati Hamdan Idris Al-Hamid in third.
Emirati Hamid Al Zaabi topped the Under-14 Academies Championship, followed by India’s Yashwant Sarwan, followed by his compatriot Advay Dangri in third place.
In the 10-year academic competition, Obado Chien (Philippines) won first place, followed by India’s Abinaf Beni, followed by Emirati Rawda Al-Afifi.
In the Academy Championship for 8 years, Sudanese Maki Muhammad Maki won first place, Emirati Iskandar Al Balushi and then Emirati Saif Al Abifi third.
In the women’s championship, Omonova Umeda (Uzbekistan) won first place followed by her compatriot Yakupiyeva Nilofer, followed by Sachi Jain of India.
In the over-55 category, Sergey Zagrebni (Uzbekistan) won first place, while Muhammad Hani Al-Sharif of Syria and Felix Vinny of the Philippines won first place.
In the competitions of expatriate teams living in the Emirates, Novelty Speed ​​from the Philippines took first place, followed by his compatriot Chess Lab, then Heck from Romania.
In family chess competitions, the Zia Abdul Rahman family (Bangladesh) topped the list, followed by the Abuseco family from the Philippines, followed by the Jagger family from India.
In Blitz Chess Junior category, Ashraf Ordin of Iran won first place, Sindarov Aslambek (Uzbekistan) second place and Tarhan Adar of Turkey came second.

In open blitz chess, Vahidov Shamsedin (Uzbekistan) came first, followed by Spain’s Anton David, and third place went to Sindarov Kavkokar (Uzbekistan).
