Sharjah, 3 May / WAM / The 14th session of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, organized by the Sharjah Book Authority, was inaugurated this morning by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The theme, “Minds Are Formed”, will continue from May 3 to 14 at the Sharjah Expo Centre.

He was received by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Sheikha Bodur bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and CEO of Kalimat Group. , former President of the International Publishers Association and Sheikh Salem Bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler’s Office Sheikh Faisal Bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah International Airport Authority, Dr. Nevin Al Gilani, Egyptian Minister of Culture, and heads and directors of several government departments and Representatives of the Education Department of the country.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah toured the festival, which included 141 Arab and foreign publications, and organized 1,732 events with the participation of 457 guests from 66 countries, including senior writers, authors, artists, publishers and illustrators.

He visited the halls of the Ministry of Education, the House of Wisdom, the Sharjah Private Education Authority and the Department of Social Services, in addition to the institutions of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and the UAE Council for Youth. Hear an explanation of the festival programs and participating parties and the various educational and creative exhibitions and platforms offered to children, adolescents and their families.

The Ruler of Sharjah also visited the sites of Emirates Publishers Association, Emirates Foundation for Culture and School Education, Kalimat Foundation, Sharjah Radio and Television Authority and Rubu Karn Foundation. Careers of leaders and innovators and their academic behavior.

In its new session, it aims to strengthen the Emirate of Sharjah’s efforts to provide a comprehensive reading and creative environment in terms of educating and refining the skills of children and youth and directing programs to their families that make them. Partners in encouraging their children to read and read books to build values ​​and preserve authentic identity through the stability of relationships.

Attracting 93 Arabic publications and 48 foreign publications, the festival brings together family members and those interested in children’s culture over 12 days. United Kingdom, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, USA, Australia, India, Pakistan, Algeria and Iraq.

The festival features 946 activities for children, 136 art, drama and song programs, travel programs and song symphonies with the participation of 16 artists. 68 guests of artists, writers and creatives participate in the cultural corner activities. The Culinary Corner features 13 famous chefs from 9 countries, combining the fun of culinary art with 33 interactive workshops that introduce visitors to the cultures of different countries.

The festival has prepared 72 sessions and workshops for the social media station, where several content producers will address topics of interest to the audience of social media platforms, adults and children alike.
